Official Order on granting Amnesty and Reduction of Prison Sentence

In commemoration of the 149th Karenni National Day, and on humanitarian principles, and in accordance with Section 32, Subsection (b) and Subsection (2) of the Interim Arrangement of Karenni State and Section 32 of the Karenni State Interim Judiciary Law, amnesty is hereby granted to prisoners currently serving sentences in prisons, with the condition that “Any recipient who commits a subsequent offense shall be required to serve both the new sentence and the remaining portion of the original sentence”. Under this order, amnesty is granted to 12 prisoners, and conditional sentence remission is granted to 105 prisoners.
