On the occasion of the 151st Karenni National Day, on 21 June 2026, the Interim Executive Council of Karenni State(IEC) extends our heartfelt prayers and best wishes to people of Karenni people around the world and the entire people of Myanmar. Furthermore, we wish to express our deep respect and honor for the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for equality and the right to self-determination. We also extend our recognition to all Karenni civilians, revolutionary comrades, both men and women, and to the entire Karenni people who continue to sacrifice and persevere in this journey.

On 21 June 1875, a historic agreement was signed between Kinwun Mingyi, the representative of the Burmese King, and Sir Thomas Douglas Forsyth, the head of the British Government Mission, recognizing the Western Karenni territories as a separate and independent political identity, which marks a historic day. Therefore, it is now a duty of the new generation to maintain and promote our national dignity and political rights.

Although Karenni State has historically stood as a separate and independent entity, in the present and for the future, we are working together with other ethnic brothers and sisters to build a federal union. Despite facing military repression, we have continued to move forward in implementing our vision. At present, the administrative structures have been successfully established, and ongoing efforts are being made to strengthen the institutionalization in more systmatic.

On the occasion of the 151st Karenni National Day, we extend this message as a call for continued solidarity, cooperation, and collective commitment to building the future of Karenni State. We urge all people, political forces, revolutionary alliances, and organizations to remain united and work together based on mutual trust and respect until our common goals are achieved.
