- The fighting history of the ethnic people of Karenni State has been described as a remarkable and historic chapter in the Spring Revolution, in which the people rose in resistance against the military junta. Countless lives and livelihoods have been sacrificed, and despite the inhumane oppression and brutality of the military dictatorship, the people continue to fight without stepping back, and this is not only a liberation struggle of the Karenni people but also a critically important political and military front in the effort to build a future Federal Democratic Union.
- Currently, all three branches of the state, the executive, legislative, and judicial, have collapsed nationwide. As economic, educational, and healthcare conditions continue to worsen day by day, the entire ethnic population, including the people of Karenni State, is facing several crises, as the main root cause is the military coup of February 1, 2021.
- The establishment of the Karenni State Interim Executive Council is a political necessity that emerged in accordance with the political aspirations and demands of the people of Karenni State.
- The newly formed Karenni State Interim Executive Council and it’s objectives that to carry out the administration of an interim state government through collective leadership, to strive for stability and peace in the state by ensuring mutual checks and balances among the legislative, executive, and judicial sectors, and to work practically and cooperatively with all relevant forces within the state are which are are fully aligned with the current aspirations and demands of the people of Karenni State.
- Laying strong foundations for the building of a future Federal Democratic Union based on national equality, justice, and the right to self-determination, we wish for the achievement of the political objectives that are fully aligned with the current aspirations and demands of the people of Karenni State.
With sincerity,
