This announcement provides an update on the Non-CDM civil servants rescued from Loikaw University and their family members. A Special Investigation Committee on those Non-CDM personnel was formed and has now reviewed the process of investigations.
- Based on the findings of the Special Investigation Committee, a total of 193 individuals comprising 70 civil servants from the first group and 37 of their family members, plus 59 civil servants from the second group and 27 of their family members, all of whom agreed no ties to any mechanism linked to the terrorist military council, to cease all contact with their schools/offices, and to stand in solidarity with the people in accordance with public. They all have signed an agreement and have been subject to a final order of banishment from Karenni State on November 28, 2023.
- However, 5 staff members, including the Rector and Vice-Rector of Loikaw University, along with their family members, who founded the acts of collaborating with the illegal terrorist military council, will face legal action. The Karenni State Police Department has filed cases against them and transferred them to the relevant judicial department to be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
- Three family members of military personnel who founded direct links to the terrorist military council have been transferred to the relevant military tribunal to be dealt with under military law, and an investigation, as needed.
- As the military operation is expected to intensify further, we urge all Tatmadaw personnel, police force members, and civil servants from all departments currently serving under the military council to stand with the people and promptly join forces with the revolutionary groups.
