Issues Announcement on the Interim Education System in Karenni State

- To strengthen the implementation of education across the state, the Department of Education of the Karenni State Interim Executive Council is working in collaboration with relevant education organizations/groups during the revolutionary (interim) period, to ensure that children do not miss the rights of education.
- Here, we respectfully acknowledge and give our appreciation to the CDM teachers and volunteer teachers who are contributing and fulfilling their responsibilities in various ways to support the state’s education sector.
- As Education is a basic right for everyone, we must systematically move toward an inclusive and federal democratic education system.
- Under the current conditions of education implementation in the state, the ongoing fighting has impacted displaced children and children who have lost access to education.
- Therefore, we hereby announce that organizations implementing public education in this interim period within the Karenni state are requested to fully respect the right to education and conduct the necessary assessments and evaluations for children who have relocated due to various circumstances, so that they may continue their education.
