Khu Plu Reh was formerly a member of the Kayah State Peace Monitoring Network (KSPMN). After his fifteen-year career as a peace fellow and in accordance with a ceasefire agreement which made between the Government of Myanmar and the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP) in 2012, he joined the Kayah State Peace Monitoring Network (KSPMN), where he accepted a position of a Core Team Member and spokesperson in the network.

He contested the 2020 General Election as a candidate for a local ethnic party, the Kayah State Democratic Party (KySDP), in Deemawso Township Constituency No. (1) On 9 April 2021, he joined the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) and was appointed as one of the members of KSCC’s Secretary team. On 6 June 2023, he was appointed as the General Secretary of the Interim Executive Council of Karenni State (IEC).
